Ranks in top 1% of global sites - since 1996 This mammoth gambling 24casino24.ca centre opened in 2003 and is owned by Marina District Development Corp, a subsidiary of Boyd Gaming, which operates casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas as well as Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana and Mississippi. The main hotel tower was finished in July 2007 and the resort officially opened on 28 August 2007. The resort has 3000 suites, 1,200,000 sq ft (110,000 m2) of convention space, 1,600,000 sq ft (150,000 m2) of retail, 550,000 square feet (51,000 m2) of casino space – with 3400 slot machines and 800 gambling tables and the 15,000 seat Cotai Arena for entertainment and sports events. Foxwoods Resort is one of the largest casinos in the world, and one of the biggest casinos in the US. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation own this casino as it is on reservation land and have decorated the resort with a Native American inspired theme. Overall, Foxwoods Resort covers a nine million square feet stretch, with 344,000 square feet being reserved for gaming space.
